Moore Kingston Smith

The main objective of this project was to create an office space that would propel Moore Kingston Smith into the future. Recognising it as a generational opportunity, the aim therefore was to establish a best-in-class workspace, catering to the needs of both their people and clients.

The Brief

We presented a curation of furniture that would best facilitate hybrid working and create a welcoming environment. These pieces were also chosen with client entertainment in mind for the dedicated event spaces.

In contrast to their previous office, the new space provided an excellent opportunity to promote cross-departmental collaboration as the entire company would now work from a single floor. This configuration would allow teams to seamlessly interact and flow, fostering better collaboration and cross-pollination of ideas between departments. To support this collaborative work style, we presented a mix of dedicated and communal workspace furniture, ensuring an optimal environment for teamwork. Suppliers for this project include YourWorkspace, Humanscale, Connection, Hay, Deadgood, Table Place Chairs and Naughtone.

Sustainability

Sustainability and circularity were fundamental considerations in the MKS project, reflecting the values of modern-day initiatives. Taking in-house feedback into account, sustainable practices were integrated into the furniture choices and project logistics. Whenever possible, we repurposed and reused existing furniture, for example rewrapping credenzas for a new lease of life. We proudly integrated eco-innovations such as the Liberty recycled fishing nets chair, crafted from reclaimed ocean fishing nets. The aim was to achieve BREEAM Very Good certification, serving as a benchmark for the MKS commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

Outcomes

We conducted extensive consultation, including furniture workshops and showroom visits. This ensured that all furniture choices aligned with the project's vision of aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.

The result was an innovative office space that energised the team, clients, and visitors, fostering productivity and collaboration. The design and furniture selections reflected Moore Kingston Smith's culture, spirit, and commitment to sustainability, positioning them for future success.
