Job Purpose: 

To act in a project management role operating primarily within the sphere of client contracts and undertaking full ownership of projects within established Service Level Agreements.  Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Produce quotations for the Sales Manager based on project specific requirements
  • lead the planning and implementation of projects
  • Ensure all costs/margins are monitored when and where necessary
  • Manage project budget
  • Manage deliveries and installations for all projects with support from sales support
  • Ensure projects are complete to customer satisfaction and seek to implement improvements
  • Supply chain management – assist with planning, improvement/development, logistics and distribution including the management of freight from overseas suppliers
  • Improve the operational systems and processes within Tsunami Axis
  • Assist and support business process and organizational planning
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services to Tsunami Axis i.e. IT and Finance as well as coordination and communication between support and business functions.
  • Play a role and support in long-term planning, including improvements towards quality management
  • constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Manage customer service and assess that we are meeting customer satisfaction goals
  • Oversee and make improvements to Logistics & installation services
  • Assist with training and support of Sales Support staff

Nature and Scope:

Successfully and profitably manage new and existing projects, delivering the contractual standards and meeting all Health & Safety and compliance requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of Project management with techniques and tools
  • Proven experience in Project Manager role with strategic planning
  • Strong leader with personnel/management experience
  • Strong analytical skills, experience of time management in a creative environment essential
  • Technical understanding of aspects of architectural design, interior and furniture design
  • Experience in handling large scale projects
  • Proven experience in risk management and change management
  • Proficient in project management software – MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience in managing UK projects is essential
  • Degree – ideally in a design or business management discipline
  • Languages – English and German (fluent in spoken and written)

The Company
Tsunami Axis is one of the UK’s largest supplier of furniture to the commercial interiors sector. As well as being Herman Miller’s largest dealer partner outside of the US, Tsunami works with a wide range of high-profile European manufacturers. Launched in 1999, Tsunami Axis has completed some of the largest furniture projects nationally and internationally. We provide unrivalled support at every level of a project and have offices in London, Edinburgh, Frankfurt and West Africa.
The Tsunami Axis team has many years of combined experience within the commercial interiors sector. The expertise and skills of the 70-strong team encompass all aspects of design, supply, project management, installation and after sales management.

Job Role
This position is a design role with much more input and responsibility, supporting the Sales Team and Project Management Team to complete the interior installation. As one of the design team you will be participating from the beginning of a project through to completion working alongside varies other roles within Tsunami and Flourish.
The design services you will be expected to undertake are: space planning designs, managing the incoming and outgoing of drawings to clients/architects, technical drawings and supporting presentational documents.
The role will involve running multiple projects simultaneously and working within tight deadlines. You will need an awareness of furniture and manufacturers Tsunami Axis works alongside and be interested in sourcing and finding new products releases that could be useful for the clients.

Primary Tasks
 Presentation work to include proposal packs, specification packs
 Space planning and installation
 Technical drawings
 Manage and co-ordinate the overall design process from the brief, to the final install, ensuring correct design support is provided throughout
 Visualisation and graphics for client presentations

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
 Background and experiences within Commercial Office Design beneficial
 CAD experience essential
 Comfortable to present to clients
 Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
 Demonstrated high personal performance standards, the desire and ability to
continuously learn
 Efficient time management
 Have technical understanding of current space planning regulations for install
 A high level of passion, energy, enthusiasm and creativity is essential
