Nova Coffee & Bakery is more than just a coffee shop – it’s a social enterprise helping women rebuild their lives through baking, skills development and community support. Located in Hogan Lovells’ Atlantic House office in London, the café is the result of a powerful collaboration between Hogan Lovells, BM Caterers, Luminary Bakery, and Tsunami Axis.
Creating the Environment
The café’s primary goal is to provide practical training and employment opportunities to women facing homelessness, domestic abuse or violence. BM Caterers and Luminary Bakery delivers hands-on training in a supportive environment, equipping these women with essential baking skills and work experience to create new opportunities for a brighter future.
A calm, welcoming environment plays a vital role in this mission. Tsunami Axis helped bring the café to life by donating 75 reused, refurbished, and redeployed furniture pieces from our supply network – providing seating, tables, and a comfortable space for patrons.

Banquette seating was generously donated by Davison Highley, with integrated power units from CMD creating a functional workspace within the café. Talking Interiors contributed versatile café tables that can be easily rearranged to suit a flexible layout. EWM Bespoke Interiors provided professional chair cleaning to existing chairs within the space, ensuring the furniture was refreshed and ready for use.
BSG supported the project with furniture storage, installation, and on-site cutouts for the banquette seating, while Flightless Bird Installations managed delivery logistics. EcoClear further supported by responsibly removing waste to ensure materials were reused, rehomed, or recycled.
Driving Lasting Impact
Together, this collective effort prevented furniture from going to landfill, reduced embodied carbon, and supported the local community — a clear example of how thoughtful design, sustainability, and social impact can come together to drive meaningful change.
