“You never stop learning.”

That philosophy has shaped Claus Freitag’s 15-year career in the office furniture industry, and continues to drive his commitment to re-certifying as a Quality Office Consultant.

As Sales Manager in Frankfurt, his role goes far beyond presenting product options. It’s about advising with confidence, navigating regulations and helping clients invest in furniture solutions that will perform long after installation. We spoke to him about what certification really means in practice, how workplace expectations are shifting, and why informed guidance builds long-term trust.

Claus Freitag – Sales Manager at Tsunami Axis Frankfurt

What motivated you to pursue the Quality Office certification originally, and what does re-certifying every three years mean for you as a Sales Manager and for our clients?

With more than 15 years in the office furniture industry, I still come back to one sentence my father taught me: you never stop learning.

Every project is different, so staying informed is essential. Re-certifying every three years is a commitment to keeping up with regulations, standards and workplace developments. As a Sales Manager, it ensures I remain a trusted advisor. For clients, it means informed guidance they can rely on.

For those unfamiliar, what does being a Quality Office Consultant mean in practice when advising clients?

Being officially certified means clients receive verified, expert advice tailored to their needs. It goes beyond presenting product catalogues. It’s about understanding how people work and selecting furniture solutions that are practical, compliant and built to last.

Certification gives me the confidence to recommend alternatives where needed and to challenge ideas that may not meet best practice. It ensures every recommendation is informed, considered and suited to the way the client works.

How does your Quality Office knowledge influence project outcomes in practice?

It influences projects at a foundational level, particularly in compliance and ergonomic best practice planning. By identifying potential issues early, we avoid costly revisions later. It also means I can clearly justify recommendations, giving clients confidence in the decisions made.

The certification requires continued learning and workshops. What new insights have you gained recently, and how are you applying them with clients in Frankfurt and across Europe?

At the recent Quality Office Consultant Day in June 2025, the focus was on AI and the next phase of workplace transformation.

Digitalisation has already changed how we work. Now AI is becoming an active partner rather than just a tool. This shift will influence how spaces are used, how teams collaborate and how flexible environments need to be.

For clients, this means thinking ahead. I am advising on furniture solutions that can adapt as technology evolves, ensuring investments remain relevant as working patterns continue to change.

How does being listed as a certified consultant across Germany position Tsunami Axis within the market, and what advantages does it bring to clients looking for expertise they can trust?

Trust is exactly the right word.

Being listed as a certified Quality Office Consultant reinforces our credibility in the market. It shows clients that our advice is informed and verified. As a dealership, we deliver furniture solutions with confidence, clarity and an understanding of each client’s specific needs.

On a personal level, what do you enjoy most about working directly with customers and helping organisations create better workplaces?

I enjoy being part of the entire project journey.

From defining the brief to delivering the finished workspace, it’s rewarding to see a vision become reality. Walking into a completed space and knowing it will positively influence how people work is always a satisfying moment.
