This International Women’s Day, we asked women across our business to share what has influenced them. From the people who inspire them to the experiences that drive them, their insights are a testament to the diverse paths they’ve walked.

As we listened, a common thread emerged that influence often doesn’t shout; it whispers through purpose, resilience, independence, representation, quiet strength, and ambition.

Purpose Begins at Home

For many, the most profound influences are deeply personal.

Lucy Robertson (Sales Manager, Scotland) describes her daughter as her purpose and the reason she shows up with consistency and heart.

It’s a reminder that leadership doesn’t always begin at work. It can begin in the standards we model every day.

Giorgia Ferlin (Regional Sales Director, UK) shared a relatable moment for many working mothers. After a long day, her four-year-old said, “Mamy, I really like you. You are a good Mamy.” In that simple statement lies reassurance; children don’t measure our hours, they sense our presence, care, and consistency.

There’s no one-size-fits-all formula for balancing leadership and motherhood; only choices, priorities, and ongoing adjustments.

For Jazz Lara (Sales Manager, France), her mother modelled independence and the belief that ambition is something you define for yourself.

These are not abstract values. They shape how decisions are made, how challenges are handled and how teams are led.

Courage and Independence

Other reflections centred around the theme of courage.

Courage can manifest in small yet equally significant ways.

Amy Holden (Sales Support & Procurement Coordinator, London) captured it simply: “If you don’t ask, you don’t get.” In this context, ambition isn’t about making a lot of noise; it’s about having clear intentions.

Representation in Practice

For Sophie Gray (Project Manager, UK), representation is lived daily. As a project manager working on site alongside contractors and install teams, she is often one of the few women in the room – and she takes pride in that.

Leadership, she notes, is not defined by gender but by competence, communication and accountability.

Neketa Tschandhok (Senior PM/Workflow Coordinator, Frankfurt) reflected on inspiration from Malala Yousafzai and about the everyday resilience of women who support one another and move forward together.

Perspective and Quiet Strength

Some reflections spoke about resilience shaped through experience.

The sudden loss of a close friend in 2025 reshaped how Amy Holden sees time and where she places her energy. “That loss fundamentally changed how I see life. It taught me that time is fragile, and there’s no point worrying about things outside of your control when you never know what tomorrow holds.”

Preksha Goyal (Senior Designer, London) shared a reminder from her parents that no day is ever the same as yesterday. Not the good. Not the difficult.

These perspectives create a steady kind of strength.

As Sandrine Vincent (Director, Switzerland) put it, “life is about embracing both strengths and weaknesses and being true to who you are.”
